Access Harrison County This multiphase project will work with O'Bannon Woods State Park and Harrison County parks department to implement numerous changes, including building new accessible cabins, fishing docks, and trails. Trail additions include a sensory garden, wildlife viewing blind, and interpretive signage at key locations. The trail will provide accessibility while maintaining natural beauty through the use of two specific paving materials, Natural Pavement and Forest Walkways. The O'Bannon Woods State Park aquatic center will add four aquatic chairs and walkers of various sizes and designs. Other county park projects include the installation of a fishing dock at Buffalo Trace Park, a pontoon boat, and two beach wheelchairs that can go off-road to access uneven terrains. Two accessible camping cabins with an enclosed shelter house between the cabins will be built near the existing camping areas. The cabins will feature tactile signage, electric door opener, adjustable stovetop and microwave, and many more amenities, including low-profile solar lighting to improve visibility around the cabins.
