Morsches Park Splashpad
A new splashpad, to be located in Morsches Park, the largest of Columbia City parks, will be free to the public. Wide walkways, comfortable seating, nearby tables for picnicking, and attractive landscaping will enhance the use of the splashpad for persons of all ages and all abilities.
Accessible features of the spashpad include:
- Flat, brushed-texture concrete surface to limit slipping and provide security for persons with mobility impairments
- Colored concrete to provide visual cues for persons with limited sight to indicate they are in various play areas and to signify age or ability appropriateness of the play activity
- Spacing between components ranging between 8' and 12' to allow safe side-by-side play
- Ground-level spray activation allowing persons using supportive equipment to roll over the switch to turn on the water
- Water-play equipment sprays and splashes include ground level, mid-level, and overhead
