"Let's Go" Project
The "Let's Go" project partners include the Center for Independent Living of Mid-Michigan, Chippewa Nature Center, Midland Area Community Foundation, Midland Community Center, Midland County Parks and Recreation Department, and West Midland Family Center.
The "Let's Go" plans include:
- Manitou County Park - river access route, fishing/viewing shore stations at river's edge, accessible ramp/transfer/lift for canoe entry/exit, accessible outrigger canoes, picnic amenities
- Chippewa Nature Center - river access ramp/transfer/lift for canoe entry/exit and adaptive technology upgrades to improve physical and interpretive access to the nature center museum and voyager canoes
- West Midland Family Center - accessible nature trail to connect existing facilities including accessible playground, fire ring, multipurpose court/skate park, stream, and restrooms
- Midland Community Center - outdoor accessible water slide with lift and accessible spray features, water access wheelchairs, lifts, ramps, and transfers for independent use
In addition, the community's 24-hour human service information and referral network, 211 First Call For Help, will provide accessible recreation service information.
