Wyoming Parks and Recreation Department
The Wyoming Parks and Recreation Department has received an Accessible by Design Award that will be used to build a universally accessible “Splashpad.” The Splashpad will be the only one of its kind in Wyoming and its unique design features will set it apart from others in West Michigan. Those features include:
- Textured concrete and color mark the boundaries of the play area.
- Soaker stations, a water tunnel, fire hydrant and dumping buckets in a variety of bright, vibrant colors.
- Special pathways and spacing between water components.
- Ground level, mid level and overhead play.
- Benches and picnic tables offer viewing opportunities.
- Two water chairs will be available for children and adults challenged by disability and may be reserved in advance.
